Philosophy and approach
Newhouse & Associates is a bookkeeping, financial operations and tax firm working remotely with businesses across Canada and the United States.
We believe every business owner deserves the same quality of financial operations that large companies take for granted. Most owners are running the thing they actually set out to build, and the books are the part that gets done at eleven at night or not at all. That is not a failure of discipline. It is a job that belongs with someone who does it for a living.
Our approach is straightforward. We close your books every month, not just at year end, and we deliver statements you can actually make decisions from. We work in the systems your business already runs on, whether that is QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or industry platforms like Lone Wolf Back Office, Buildium and Yardi. We price on transaction volume, agreed before the work starts, so you are not auditing a timesheet.
What makes us different is where the team has sat. Between us: the Canada Revenue Agency, Big Four public accounting, and the finance teams of large publicly traded companies. We have seen how the numbers are supposed to work at scale, and we bring that to businesses that are not at that scale yet.

Matt Newhouse is an Advanced Certified QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor.
That is a certification in the software, awarded by Intuit for passing its QuickBooks Online exam. It says the platform your books sit in is run by somebody who has been tested on it.
