Bookkeeping
The foundation everything else sits on. Every account reconciled, every transaction coded to the right place, and a complete set of financial statements in your hands every month, not just at tax time.
What's included
- Bank and credit card reconciliation across all connected accounts
- Transaction coding against a chart of accounts built for your business
- Monthly income statement
- Monthly balance sheet
- Kept on the basis that suits you, cash or accrual, decided deliberately rather than by default
- Anything unusual flagged rather than buried
- Worked on by people who have sat inside the CRA, Big Four public accounting, and public company finance teams
Who it's for
- Businesses that have outgrown doing it themselves in a spreadsheet
- Owners who want the month's numbers while there is still time to act on them
- Companies with more than one bank or credit card account to keep straight
- Anyone who wants their accountant to receive clean books at year-end
How it runs
The actual sequence, start to finish.
- 01
Books review
Before quoting anything, we look at your current file: transaction volume, how many accounts are in play, and how clean the existing history is.
- 02
Setup and cleanup
Chart of accounts reviewed and adjusted, bank feeds connected, and any opening discrepancies resolved so month one starts from a defensible position.
- 03
Monthly close
Accounts reconciled, transactions coded, and your financial statements prepared and delivered every month, so you always know how your business is performing.
- 04
Questions answered
Anything that looks unusual gets flagged rather than quietly coded to a catch-all account.
What it costs
Priced by monthly transaction volume. Volume, not headcount or revenue, is what drives the number.
Questions about bookkeeping
Which accounting software do you work in?
QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Xero, Sage 300 and Sage X3 for day-to-day bookkeeping, plus CaseWare Working Papers and TurboTax for year-end and tax work. Alongside those we work in the systems a business actually runs on: Buildium, Yardi Breeze and Yardi Voyager for property management, Lone Wolf Back Office (still widely called brokerWOLF) for brokerages, and Jobber, ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro for trades and field service, reconciling what each holds into the accounting file rather than treating it as one. We also work alongside the tools you already run for bills and spending, Bill.com, Ramp, Expensify and Hubdoc among them, and alongside whatever platform runs your payroll. If you are on something else, we quote a one-time migration rather than supporting arbitrary software indefinitely.
When will my statements actually arrive each month?
Every month, once your records for the month are in. How quickly depends on how much is there and how fast the paperwork reaches us, so we would rather tell you where your file stands than commit to a date on the calendar and miss it. If something is going to take longer than usual, you hear it from us before the month end rather than after.
Cash basis or accrual?
Whichever genuinely fits, and we will tell you which one that is rather than defaulting. Cash basis is simpler and matches what your bank account is doing; accrual gives you a truthful read on a month where you invoiced heavily and collected nothing. Businesses with inventory, work in progress, or long payment cycles almost always need accrual, a cash-basis contractor with a holdback receivable is looking at numbers that describe a different business than the one they run.
Is bookkeeping available to US businesses?
Yes. Every service we offer is available to businesses in both Canada and the United States. Tax filing is the one exception, that is Canada-only.

Often paired with
Restaurant and café bookkeeping: food cost, labour, and the two numbers that decide everything
Hospitality runs on margins thin enough that a two-point drift in food cost is the difference between a good year and a bad one. Most books cannot see it.
Bookkeeping for dental clinics and health practices: the five things that are different
Associate splits, lab costs, equipment financing, insurance receivables, the professional corporation, and what a clinic's year end file needs that a generic one does not.
